Talk: Samir Sonti presents "Labor and the Politics of Inflation, Past and Present"

Event Date:
Monday, June 5, 2023 -
2:00pm to 3:30pm
Event Location:
CSRC Library - 144 Haines Hall

Join us when Samir Sonti, assistant professor at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, discusses how the arrival of inflation during the pandemic has spurred considerable debate over both the causes of rising prices and the optimal means of achieving price stability. In the mid-twentieth century, inflation stood as one of the most contested political issues, and it was one with which the labor movement was, by necessity, deeply engaged.

In person and on Zoom.

Cosponsored by the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment, the Department of Labor Studies, the Labor Center, and the CSRC.
