NCFS to Screen "Chicano Love Is Forever"

On June 12 at 7:30 p.m., the Northwest Chicago Film Society (NCFS) will screen Chicano Love Is Forever/Amor Chicano Es Para Siempre directed by pioneer Chicano filmmaker Efraín Gutiérrez. This 1977 film was presumed lost for twenty years until CSRC director Chon A. Noriega discovered it while conducting research, resulting in the film being restored by UCLA.  Gutiérrez's previous film, Please, Don't Bury Me Alive!/Por Favor, No Me Entierren Vivo! (1976) was rereleased on DVD in 2007 as part of the CSRC's Chicano Cinema & Media Arts Series available here.
