Latinos and Economic Security
Description:
Latinos and Economic Security (LES) is a national research project, funded by the Ford Foundation, with a goal to advance economic security for middle-age and aging Latinos by advocating, developing, and fostering a public policy agenda that prioritizes the needs of the Latino community. Specifically, the project seeks to identify financial risks and threats facing Latinos approaching retirement, as well as opportunities to improve this population's financial security.
LES is a collaborative effort of the UCLA Center for Policy Research on Aging, the USC Ethel Percy Andrus Gerontology Center, and the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, in partnership with the National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA), the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR). To learn more about the project, visit the LES website.
LES disseminates its findings through its website, public events such as conferences and webinars, and publications. Findings from early stages of the initiative have been published as part of the CSRC Press's Latinos and Economic Security Policy Brief series and the Latinos and Economic Security Report series (see publications below).
