Evangeline, the Queen of Make-Believe
This Wednesday, October 19, through Friday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. the Autry National Center will be hosting an in-gallery theater work by About Productions. It is set in late-1960s East L.A. and it presents the story of Evangeline, a devout daughter by day and a Hollywood go-go dancer by night. Music for the production was written by David Hidalgo and Louie Perez of Los Lobos. A gallery tour of Art Along the Hyphen: The Mexican-American Generation will precede each performance, and the Wednesday event will be followed by a dialogue with the work’s creators.
