UCLA Medal of Honor Luncheon Honoring Raphael Montañez Ortiz

The CSRC in collaboration with the Institute of American Cultures will host a special event at UCLA celebrating Chicano art and culture in Los Angeles. The culmination of this event will be the presentation of the UCLA Medal to pioneering artist and CSRC archival collections donor Raphael Montañez Ortiz.
Chancellor Gene Block will present the UCLA Medal to Ortiz for his achievements in art, education, and social justice.
Speakers include Chancellor Block, CSRC director Chon Noriega, IAC director David Yoo, Raphael Montañez Ortiz, and CUNY graduate student Ana Perry.
