Nathalie Sanchez, artist and arts educator, received a Getty Multicultural Internship at the CSRC in 2006. She currently teaches at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy and was interviewed in July 2012 for the following video.
CSRC director Chon Noriega and scholars Karen Mary Davalos and Deborah Cullen were participants in “Encuentros: Artistic Exchange between the U.S. and Latin America,” a two-day symposium at the Smithsonian American Museum of Art held October 5-6, 2011.
The Los Angeles Times has announced the top twenty most attended exhibitions during Pacific Standard Time, the Getty arts initiative that ran from October 2011 through March 2012. Included on the list are CSRC's L.A. Xicano exhibitions Mural Remix: Sandra de la Loza (#4) and Art Along the Hyphen: The Mexican American Generation (#11).
Times art critic Christopher Knight discusses the significance of the Pacific Standard Time exhibitions over the past year and the initiatives significance to Los Angeles art history. PST's L.A. Xicano exhibitions were organized by the CSRC.

In collaboration with the National Hispanic Media Coalition and Latino Decisions, the CSRC participated in a public webinar on September 18 featuring a speaker from each organization. Chon Noriega represented the CSRC and helped report on media stereotypes regarding Latinos and their effect on public attitudes toward this demographic.
